Pastor Tavv Shaver, a native of the great Northwest,
was born and raised in the Seattle area. He was saved at the age of 17 after
hearing the message of salvation preached over the radio.
Soon after graduating from high school in
Renton,
he joined
the
Navy and served for five years as a damage-controlman and welder.
Home ported in San Diego, he joined the Lighthouse Baptist Church,
and it was there that he was
called to preach.
Immediately after being honorably discharged from the Navy
in 1981, he enrolled in Bible college at Trinity Baptist College
in Jacksonville, Florida, and graduated in 1985 with a B.A.
in Church Ministries. After finishing college, Pastor Shaver moved
back to
San Diego where he and his wife Julie were married.
After four years as Youth Director back at his home church
in San Diego, he was hired back at Trinity Baptist Church as Assistant Pastor and Young Married Couples Sunday School Director and taught Bible classes at the college.
In 1992, the Shavers
moved back
to San Diego with their
five children
where Pastor Shaver worked on staff
as
Associate Pastor
at the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
In 1997, Pastor Shaver and his family moved to Bellingham, Washington to start and build
Evergreen Baptist Church. For almost twelve years now, he and his family of thirteen and his fine church family have labored in Whatcom County for the Lord. God has given Evergreen Baptist Church
a true pioneering spirit with hundreds of salvations and baptisms.
